Money and Macros

The need

The same person pays for a budgeting app and a calorie tracker and logs into both. Money and Macros treats a missed receipt as normal, not a failure, and gets the numbers from a camera.

What was hard

   Receipt photo to transactions

   A photo of a receipt becomes budget transactions without typing a line item.

   Food photo to macros

   A meal photo is estimated into macros, with a text-only path when there is no photo.

   Fridge photo to recipes

   A photo of the fridge becomes an ingredient inventory, then recipe matches from what is actually in it.

   Recipe import

   Recipes come in from a URL or a photo and land in the same inventory-aware list.

   Plaid bank sync

   Bank transactions sync with webhook verification, auto-pair to logged purchases and reconcile on a cron.

   Projected balance

   A projected balance is computed from recurring transactions, with transaction splitting and CSV reports.
